About Us

  • Elgiva London. Founded in Autumn 2023 by me, Georgiana Pike; it came about because of my passion for unearthing outstanding, yet elusive essential luxuries.

The first is a particular transcendent Provencal lavender oil which used to be sold by Celia Lindsell in the UK until a few years ago. She had long stopped selling it when I discovered the farm from which her amazing essential oil came ofter a dogged pursuit, spending weeks scouring Provence (almost two and a half times the size of Wales). This particular variation, a lavandula hybrida, was developed by one family two generations ago and the unmistakeable aroma was instantly recognisable. The farmers who still use a traditional distillation method to extract the oil from their strain of lavandula hybrida were thrilled to learn their lavender oil would again be sold in the UK.

  • A fragrant delight, now beautifully packaged. When added to a pillow, diffuser, oil burner, bath or any other aromatic agent it relaxes and envelops a home in an incredible, lingering lavender bouquet. Moreover, a bath with Elgiva does wonders for aching muscles.

Aside from its aromatic properties, it is extremely versatile with a plethora of other practical uses: add to the softener compartment of your washing machine and your laundry will have a distinct lavender-fresh scent and you can safely spray it directly onto clean wool, cashmere and tweed to deter moths.

The range now includes beautifully made and packaged lavender sachets with a pretty cotton, removable, washable cover

  • The name Elgiva (pronounced el-jee-ver) is a tribute to my Grandmother. She wasn’t fond of the name. I always claimed my daughter would be an 'Elgiva'; that didn’t happen - I have three wonderful sons.

Beautiful cotton lavender sachets - for drawers, hangers, suitcase, pillow and living are available using the flowers from the same plants. These are the first tentative steps towards a wider range of products...

  • In Provence with the lavender farmers, having met them for the first time.
