What is Elgiva London lavender oil?

Elgiva London lavender oil is 100% natural undiluted essential oil from the Lavandin plant, grown and distilled on a family farm in Provence where a unique strain has been developed for its unusual qualities and sensational aroma.

Lavandin or Lavandula x intermedia/Lavandula hybrida is a naturally occurring hybrid between two lavender species: Lavandula angustifolia and Lavandula latifolia a.k.a “Spike Lavender”.

Is Elgiva London lavender oil diluted?

Absolutely not. It's 100% pure essential oil.

Is lavender oil harmful?

It causes serious eye irritation; rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses. If eye irritation persists seek medical advice

It may cause an allergic skin reaction; wash with plenty of soap and water and seek medical advice if irritation or rash occurs.

It seems expensive - why is that?

In a nutshell, Elgiva London is sold in larger sized bottles than other lavender oils hence the initial outlay is more, but on a cost per unit basis it compares very favourably and the bigger bottles and bundles are superb value.

It lasts for 5 years if the cap is kept on when not in use and the deep purple glass bottles we use act as a natural barrier to prolong the bioenergetic values of the product; with such a myriad of uses customers appreciate the larger sizes.

In a comparison with luxury candles the burn life is so much longer.

How much lavender oil should I use?

Obviously everything is to taste but as a general guide from our trials:

- Washing machine softener compartment - for a medium load a pipette or half a capful

- Bath: in a deep bath we'd suggest using the same as in a washing machine

- Diffuser or oil burner: a few drops diluted dispensed by a pipette with as much water as possible

We'd love your feedback when you discover how much you like to use....

Should I purchase a pipette?

Following customer feedback about wishing to measure oil usage accurately we're thrilled to add pipettes to the range.

They screw into the 50ml bottles as an additional closure and can replace the lid that comes with the bottle.

They also reach the bottom of the 100ml bottles (although they do not screw into the bottle top).

Where can I spray Elgiva London lavender oil?

Spray on pillows, bedding and clothes. It does not stain.

Please note it's also possible to dilute the lavender oil with water and an emulsifier (alcohol will do). This is in the process of being trialed in order that we can supply a recipe for our customers to do so.

Why do you use dark coloured glass?

The glass we use filters the sun’s rays perfectly. Allowing the beneficial rays in, while keeping the harmful rays out. It protects, prolongs and enhances natural products. It also acts as a natural barrier for energy stored within the product itself, keeping it all inside prolonging the natural quality of the product. It's also possible to reuse and recycle the bottles.
