Most French lavender is pooled at a co-op and blended across farms. Ours is distilled on one 67-hectare estate by a single family, and we are its only UK importer. That is the reason it smells the way it does. Because it is undiluted, one bottle goes a very long way.
Two drops in the bath before bed. A little on bed linen. A drop in the wardrobe, where it also happens to keep moths off wool and cashmere - the use customers write to us about most.
Includes a pipette.
- Undiluted
- Single-estate
- Pesticide-free
Uses
Uses
- Bath oil: nothing beats a bath with Elgiva lavender oil. Add to running water either by using a pipette, or pouring in a few drops.
- Room Spray: fragrance a room with a spritz, an oil burner, diffuser (electric or natural reeds) or vapour ring.
- Natural Moth Deterrent: spray onto cashmere, linen, wool, silk, and directly into cupboards and drawers. It does not stain.
- Laundry Scent: add a pipette to the washing machine softener compartment to give your clothes and laundry a fresh scent, deter moths and headlice.
- Pillow Spray: sprinkle or spritz a few drops onto your pillow to aid sleep.
- Massage gently into skin for stiffness and arthritis; always mix with a carrier oil first.
- Wipe on kitchen surfaces; deters ants and flies.
- Great for neutralising animal smells.
- A natural antiseptic.
Provenance
Provenance
Elgiva's lavender is grown, harvested and traditionally distilled by one farming family over several generations, on their 67-hectare Provençal lavender farm.
Single-Estate, Not Blended
Most French lavender growers send their harvest to a cooperative, where it's blended with crops from other farms according to lavender type: grosso, phenomenal, provence. Elgiva's farmers distil their own oil on site; it is never blended. It is single-estate, in the way a fine olive oil is. Elgiva London is currently the only UK importer of this lavender oil.
